This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit skinstein.in or buy from us, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the store well — nothing is sold to anyone.
01 Who We Are
This website is owned and operated by Luminour Wellness (OPC) Pvt. Ltd., trading as Skin Stein. For the purposes of this policy we are the data fiduciary responsible for your personal information, and you are the data principal.
This policy applies to skinstein.in, our official social media pages and any order or enquiry you place with us. It does not cover third-party websites or marketplaces, which have their own policies.
02 Information We Collect
We collect information that you give us directly:
Identity & Contact
Name, email address, phone number, and billing and shipping addresses including pin code.
Order Details
Products purchased, order value, order history, coupon codes used and delivery preferences.
Account Data
Login credentials, saved addresses and wishlist or cart contents if you create an account.
Communications
Messages, emails, WhatsApp chats and call notes when you contact our support team.
Partner Enquiries
Business name, GSTIN, store address and requirement details submitted through our Partner form.
Voluntary Inputs
Skin concerns, product feedback, reviews and photographs you choose to share with us.
We do not require sensitive information such as your Aadhaar, PAN or government ID for a normal retail order.
03 Information Collected Automatically
When you browse the site, we and our service providers automatically receive certain technical information: your IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time spent and the links you click.
This is used to keep the site working correctly, detect fraud and abuse, and understand which products and pages people find useful. Most of it is handled in aggregate rather than tied to you personally.
04 Why We Use It
We use your information to process and deliver your order, send order confirmations and tracking updates, handle returns, refunds and cashback, and answer your questions.
We also use it to maintain your account, prevent fraud and payment abuse, meet our legal and tax obligations including GST invoicing, improve our products and website, and — where you have agreed — to send you offers, launch announcements and skincare content.
We do not use your information to make any automated decision that has a significant effect on you.
05 Our Legal Basis
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law, we process your data on the basis of your consent, on the basis that it is necessary to perform the contract when you place an order, and where we have a legal obligation to retain records.
Where processing is based on consent — for example marketing messages — you may withdraw it at any time, and doing so will not affect any processing carried out before then.
07 Payment Information
All payments are processed by third-party payment gateways. We never see or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net-banking password or OTP. Card details are handled directly by PCI-DSS compliant gateways.
We receive only a confirmation of payment along with limited details such as the payment method, transaction reference and the last few digits of a card, which we use for reconciliation and refunds.
09 Marketing & Opting Out
If you have subscribed, or have bought from us, we may send you product launches, offers and skincare information by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
You can opt out at any time by clicking unsubscribe in any email, replying STOP to a message, or writing to us at support@skinstein.in. You will continue to receive transactional messages about orders you have placed — order confirmations, dispatch and delivery updates — as these are not marketing.
10 Skin & Health Information
If you tell us about your skin concerns, sensitivities or the products you currently use, we use that information solely to recommend a suitable routine and answer your question. It is not used for advertising and is not shared beyond the team member helping you.
Skin Stein products are cosmetics, and our guidance is not medical advice. Please do not send us medical reports, prescriptions or diagnostic records — for anything clinical, consult a dermatologist.
11 Reviews, Photos & Testimonials
A review, comment or photograph you submit may be published on our website, social media or marketing material, along with the first name and city you provide. Please do not include anything you are not comfortable having shown publicly.
All human images used on our website are photographs of pilot-study participants published with informed consent. You can ask us to remove your review or image at any time by writing to support@skinstein.in, and we will do so within a reasonable period — though material already printed or distributed offline may not be recallable.
12 How Long We Keep Data
We keep order and invoice records for as long as required under Indian tax and company law, which is generally up to eight years. Account information is retained while your account is active.
Support conversations are typically kept for up to two years, and marketing consent records for as long as you remain subscribed plus a short period afterwards to prove the opt-out. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.
13 Security
Our store runs on an SSL-encrypted connection, payments are handled by compliant gateways, and access to customer data is restricted to team members who need it for their work.
No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required by law. Please keep your account password confidential and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
14 Your Rights
You have the right to access a summary of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected or incomplete data completed, to request erasure where we no longer need it, to withdraw consent, and to nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.
To make a request, email us at support@skinstein.in from your registered email address. We may ask you to verify your identity, and we respond within 30 days. Some data must be retained for legal or accounting reasons even after a deletion request — we will tell you if that applies.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to our Grievance Officer and thereafter to the Data Protection Board of India.
15 Children's Privacy
Our website and products are intended for people aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly. Purchases for a minor should be made by a parent or guardian, who remains responsible for the order.
16 International Transfers
Some of our service providers — including our e-commerce platform, email tools and analytics providers — operate servers outside India, so your data may be stored or processed abroad.
Where that happens, we use providers that offer appropriate contractual safeguards, and transfers are made only to jurisdictions permitted under applicable Indian law.
17 Stay Safe from Fraud
We will never ask you for your password, OTP, CVV, UPI PIN or card details over phone, email or WhatsApp. We do not ask customers to scan a QR code to receive a refund — scanning a QR code sends money out of your account, not into it.
We contact you only from the email address and phone number listed on this page. If someone claims to be from Skin Stein and asks for payment outside our website, please do not pay, and report it to us immediately.
18 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
Where a change is significant, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the website. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
19 Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, privacy concerns that have not been resolved by our support team may be escalated to:
Complaints are acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within one month of receipt.
